Initial Company Response for Swift Water Rescue and Flood Events

During this class, the student will discover rescue techniques to implement for the initial responding companies to swift water and flood rescue events. Participants will be able to recognize common river terminology and hazards, identify basic safety equipment and its proper use, describe basic self rescue techniques, and will be able to apply water rescue techniques using commonly available fire service equipment.
